This book is published on the occasion of the exhibition of the work of Bernard Tschumi's grounbreaking first project - an "urban park for the twenty-first century" that combines abstract thinkingg with a dizzying array of real-life activities. Documented by spectacular photographs of the park in action and a collection of never - before seen archival drawings, thisbook aseembeles in one volume selections from nearly 4,000 drawings, models, photographs, and written texts created in the development stages of the project, including extracts from the competition report, the feasibility study, and project descriptions. Also included are an important essay, "Point de Folie - Maintenant l'architecture" by the philosopher Jacqaues Derrida, a contribution by the architectural historian Anthony Vidler and explicative writings by Tschumi. The totality of these documents is available to the public for the first time in this single volume.
